Essential Functions
Provide leadership in program development and improvement
Normal work day will include hours in the evenings and/or on weekends
Use the Washington State Learning Standards and testing requirements
Teach curriculum from a broad range of topics and grade levels
Research and create lessons that complement/supplement the curriculum
Track and assess student academic progress and attendance
Individualize instruction to help each student achieve curricular objectives
Provide students and parents with regular feedback regarding curricular/instructional needs, student performance, and student progress
Generate information and formal reports regarding student performance and progress
Prepare students for standardized tests and proctor site-based exams
Collaborate with various general education content teachers to provide additional support and guidance to students
Track student progress and manage student learning plans
Collaborate closely with Washington Association for Learning Alternatives to improve learning programs and processes
Collaborate closely with counseling staff to ensure high school and beyond requirements are integrated into student learning plans

Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

Teaching or supervising in an alternative education program is preferred.
Knowledge of ALE reporting and documentation for state audits.
Successful experience running an Alternative Learning Program.
