- Licensure in the mental health field is required, LCSW or LPC required

- Develop and oversee standardized district processes for providing mental health resources and supports to students, families, and staff
- Tailor programs to the specific needs of students, focusing on early intervention, preventative measures, and ongoing school-based mental health support
- Develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive school mental health program, ensuring protocols and procedures meet educational requirements, district standards, and uphold strict confidential and ethical standards
- Ensure implementation of the social work program within the district as outlined by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW)
- Develop and implement confidential standards in handling student records, mental health information, and related communications in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Lead staff meetings, case conferences, professional development, and trainings to school social workers and school counselors to ensure appropriate mental health interventions and services are provided across district programs
- Implement student risk assessments to determine the presence, immediacy, nature, and extent of mental health-related issues, and implement a standardized process for referrals
- Develop and implement professional training for educational staff and parents to address prevention and intervention strategies, and tiered responsive services
- Provide training to district and campus staff to ensure district compliance with state and federal policies related to mental health
- Coordinate and develop a comprehensive training program to deliver Youth Mental Health First Aid training for all campus staff
- Monitor and track compliance of state and federal mental health mandates by maintaining accurate data records of training attendance, participant feedback, and certification status
- Create protocols and processes for crisis management
- Collaborate with district and campus staff and administrators to address barriers that limit students from receiving full benefits from their educational experience
- Develop, track, and monitor mental health referral data and ensure timely interventions and supports are provided to district stakeholders; provide monthly reports to the Director of Counseling Services
- Support district, community-based, and multi-disciplinary partnerships, serving as an informed representative of the department as needed
