Description
MISSION
To provide safe, quality automotive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to customer vehicles
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Test drive customer vehicles and run diagnostic devices
 - Perform accurate diagnosis of check engine, air bag, antilock, and traction control lights
 - Diagnose and repair issues that cause vibration and noise
 - Perform mechanical repairs of brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, and all other major automotive systems
 - Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
 - Perform wheel alignment service
 - Perform state safety and emissions inspections
 - Perform General Service tasks as necessary
 - Maintain tools and a clean work area
 - Embrace Purcell’s culture of safety and perform all jobs in a safe manner
 - Protect company assets
 - Regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule
 - Ability to perform physical requirements as listed in job description
 - Other essential and non-essential duties, as assigned by management
 
DRUG TESTING
Purcell Tire tests for the presence of THC in all drug screenings for this position, due to the safety-sensitive nature of the job and the potential for injury or death when a tire is installed improperly, or a safety-related mechanical issue is not properly conveyed to a customer. It is a bona fide occupational qualification for service technicians to be unimpaired, so the Company will continue testing for THC and other drugs under the safety-sensitive exceptions allowed by your state.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- Mechanical Experience: 3 years
 - Must have Valid Drivers License
 - Other Job-Specific Licenses or Certifications Required: Tire Industry Association ATS certification, ASE certifications, vendor-provided training
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (KSA’s)

- Tire & Automotive Industry – Essential industry information including tire brands, designs, treads; proper safety and functional procedures, and relevant customer markets. Mastery of all major automotive emissions, engine management, and electrical systems
 - Mechanical — Knowledge of automotive vehicles and tools, including their repair, and maintenance.
 - Customer Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
 - Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
 - Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
 - Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

- Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
 - Phone Systems – Ability to operate phone systems for the effective communication of information to interested parties
