NOTICE OF VACANCY
DRUMLINE INSTRUCTOR / COLOR GUARD INSTRUCTOR
ARROYO GRANDE HIGH SCHOOL
2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR
We are now accepting applications for the following coaching position(s) for the 2025-2026 school year.
POSITION: Drumline Instructor and Color Guard Instructor
STIPEND: $2,500 Drumline Instructor for 2025-2026 Season
$1,500 Color Guard Instructor for 2025-2026 Season
JOB SUMMARY: The drumline instructor is responsible for leading rehearsals and sectionals with the drumline
on a regular basis. This person should be knowledgeable about rudimental snare drumming, tenor
drums, and marching bass drums. They should also have a firm understanding of the
marching techniques that are unique to the drumline. They are responsible for maintaining
the instruments (changing drum heads, tuning, etc.). The drumline instructor is expected to attend
all rehearsals and performances.
The color guard instructor is responsible for leading rehearsals and sectionals with the AGHS
Color Guard This person should have an extensive knowledge of marching, flag, rifle, and saber
Technique. They are also responsible for maintaining all of the equipment and making sure
That equipment is ready for each performance. The Color Guard instructor is expected to
Attend all rehearsals and performances.
The AGHS Marching Band performs at all home football games, 1 out of town competition, and in 2 to 3 local parades throughout the fall. Fall Sports begin on August 1, 2025.
PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATIONS:
External candidates: All interested outside applicants must complete an online application via Frontline as an external candidate and include a letter of interest, resume related to sport experience, and one (1) current signed letter of recommendation or character reference. Candidates who may also need to drive students in a personal or district vehicle must also complete the Driver Registration Form online and submit a DMV Pull Notice, prior to transporting of students.
Internal Classified and substitutes, must complete an online application via Frontline as an internal candidate.
Include a letter of interest and resume related to sport experience.

Volunteer candidates: All interested candidates applying to serve as a volunteer coach must complete the LMUSD Volunteer Registration registration form online. Volunteer coaches driving must also complete this same form online.
