General Overview:
The Service Technician supports quality assurance by performing hands-on testing and inspection of returned or serviced automotive components. Operating at the Gemba, this role drives Kaizen through data analysis, defect identification, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to eliminate Muda and improve processes.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct electrical, mechanical, and functional testing using calibrated equipment.
  • Perform visual inspections and dimensional measurements with precision tools.
  • Record and analyze data using SPC tools; maintain ISO/TS 16949-compliant records.
  • Submit parts for CMM layout; compile results for Quality Engineer review.
  • Manage trial part inventory with full traceability and status updates.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to verify conformance at the Gemba.
  • Review trial products and update ERP/QMS systems accordingly.
  • Draft inspection instructions for Quality Engineer approval.
  • Communicate with suppliers/customers regarding quality and warranty issues.
  • Support Lean initiatives, CAPA, and continuous improvement efforts.


    • Desired Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred.
  • 2+ years in quality control or automotive service.
  • Proficient in SPC software, GD&T, and blueprint reading.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and maintain required safety certifications.
