About the Department

Under the general supervision of the Recreation Specialist, this position is responsible for assisting with events, overseeing the use of Central Park during private and public special events, and supporting programs. Responsibilities include room setups and takedowns, facility opening and closing, cleaning, enforcing policies, and ensuring guests have the best possible experience.


Quantity of hours will vary based on the building schedule.  Variety of shifts based on scheduled events. 


Position will be open until September 7, 2025, with priority consideration given to applications received by August 24, 2025.

Position Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Open and/or close the building as scheduled.
  • Ensure events are running smoothly by monitoring guest activities, managing crowd control, and assisting with any event-specific requirements. 
  • Bartending services may be required depending on the event. 
  • Communicate and enforce facility policies and procedures in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Perform light maintenance including, but not limited to: room set-up and take-down, general cleaning of windows, floors, spills, tables, chairs, vacuuming, emptying trash cans, or other cleaning as assigned.
  • Knowledge of the facility and rental room systems, including AV systems, and ability to problem solve those systems.
  • Troubleshoot concerns or issues that arise during shift with rental groups and programs using the facility.
  • Complete injury, damage, and lost and found reports as well as equipment or supply request forms.
  • Communicate with onsite event planners and coordinators to ensure all logistical needs are met. 
  • Communicate details from shift with Recreation Specialist and contact them when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned or apparent. 
  • Knowledge of the facility emergency procedures.



Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to lift/move 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to move up/down sets of stairs on a frequent basis.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as a Guest Services or Customer Service Representative.
  • Experience working with meetings and/or events.
