Job Summary: An LPN in a hospital is a vital member of the patient care team. They work under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians to provide direct patient care, monitor health conditions, and support patients and families throughout their hospital stay.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Patient Care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor and record vital signs and symptoms
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures
- Provide wound care and dressing changes
Communication & Coordination
- Collaborate with RNs and physicians to develop care plans
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the healthcare team
- Educate patients and families on care procedures and post-discharge instructions.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Document interventions and patient progress
Safety and Compliance
- Follow infection control protocols
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of patient areas
- Adhere to hospital policies and legal regulations
Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing training and competency evaluations
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Position Skills & Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and must clearly demonstrate all required competencies. The education/experience, certifications, skills, physical demands, and work environment described below further define requirements associated with this position. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills required. Strong relationship and communication with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and clinical leaders required. Continual industry and job specific education required.
Education/Experience:
- Completion of an accredited LPN program
- Current LPN licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Other Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The physical demands frequently requires to lift and carry up to 35 pounds manually. For anything heavier, a mechanical lift or assistance from other staff is expected.

Travel & Telecommuting: Some travel outside the hospital environment may be required periodically. Some telecommuting and remote work times will be permitted at the approval and coordination with LCMH senior leadership.
Shift Differential
- Evening and night shifts are eligible for shift differential.
- Additional differential on weekend shifts.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
