We are a fully remote IT services provider that delivers innovative Enterprise IT and Health Services solutions across the federal sector. IGS is currently pipelining for a remote Project Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. Candidates will be contacted as opportunities for further consideration becomes available.
Assignment of Work and Travel:
This is a remote access assignment. Candidates will work remotely daily and will remotely access VA systems and therein use approved VA provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.
Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):
- Serve as the lead for administrating the Community of Practice (CoP), fostering a neutral and collaborative environment for all signatory members to share information and viewpoints
- Oversee the coordination and facilitation of CoP workgroups simultaneously, ensuring they are established with defined goals and timelines
- Lead interoperability projects to enable secure, real-time exchange of veteran health data across VA, DoD, and community care systems
- Manage integration efforts with VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) initiatives, including Cerner Millennium and legacy VistA systems
- Ensure alignment with federal standards and VA directives, including FHIR, HL7, Direct Messaging, and TEFCA requirements
- Collaborate with VA stakeholders, community care providers, and federal partners (e.g., DoD, HHS) to define and implement interoperability solutions
- Coordinate data exchange efforts with the Joint Health Information Exchange (JHIE) and the eHealth Exchange
- Track and report project performance related to cost, schedule, risk, and technical milestones in Jira
- Facilitate cross-functional team meetings involving clinicians, IT staff, and external vendors to ensure successful delivery
- Address technical and regulatory challenges related to patient identity management, data governance, and privacy (HIPAA, 21st Century Cures Act)
- Provide oversight and guidance on system testing, validation, and deployment for data sharing interfaces
- Prepare briefings, reports, and documentation for VA leadership, OIT, and other federal oversight bodies
- Manage the development and timely distribution of all project artifacts, including the Project Management Plan, CoP charter, meeting agendas, and minutes for all community and workgroup meetings and strategic communication documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience managing Information Technology (IT) projects.
- In-depth knowledge of project life cycle and project management methodologies.
- Proven ability to track project cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
- Skilled in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks.
- Understanding and practical experience with SAFe’s Lean-Agile principles and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to drive value, lead organizational change, and promote operational excellence.
- Experience empowering high-performing Agile teams in a scaled Agile environment.
- Thoroughly skilled in Jira to plan, track, and manage program activities, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, task assignment, and progress monitoring across multiple Agile teams.
- Experience leading and empowering high-performing Agile teams.
- Ability to support customers during EST hours.
- Knowledge of Access, Excel, effective written and oral communication, presentation and facilitation skills at an executive level.
- Knowledge of SharePoint Online, Office 365, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI at an expert level as deemed necessary by role.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA Public Trust.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship due to clearance requirement.
Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:
- Program Management Professional (PgMP)/Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- SAFe certified
- Prior experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other government agency
- Active VA Public Trust
- Prior, successful experience working in a remote environment.

Compensation: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
