Job Summary:
Completes the day-to-day radiological imaging functions at Urgent Care, to produce quality images for the ordering providers. This position also supports and assists with the coordination of all urgent care patients, including initial patient intake, scheduling, referrals, and paperwork.
Reports to: Director of Outpatient Services; Urgent Care Supervisor
Hourly range: $24.50 - $38.59 (posted hourly range excludes overtime and bonuses which are not guaranteed)
Essential Job Functions:
- Produces images in accordance with optimum imaging standards for radiologist interpretation. Completes archiving responsibilities on each patient.
- Maintains a safe environment for the patient, staff, and visitors in and around the X-ray Suite.
- Positions patients appropriately for imaging; provides instructions related to breathing and patient comfort.
- Enters required patient information accurately into the E.H.R; selects and follows appropriate protocol.
- Under the supervision of the provider and direction of the clinical lead, assists with initial intake of patient including chief complaint, patient history and initial vital signs, after completion of department-based training and competencies.
- Ensures complete and accurate WC164 form for all Occ Med patients issued to patient at discharge, patient’s employer and provides copy of entire visit to worker’s compensation insurance in accordance with the Colorado State Worker’s Compensation Guidelines.
- May collect specimens, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and may perform routine laboratory tests on samples, after completion of lab-based training and competencies by authorized lab personnel.
- Assists clerk in duties of registering patients, answering the phone, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and maintaining front desk.
- Performs patient phone call follow ups on previous visits in collaboration with clinical staff member.
- Training of new clerical and radiology tech staff members.
- Collaboration between various clinics for continuity of care.

Minimum Requirements
Education: Graduation from an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology. Certification, Licensure: Current CPR certification; registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or registry eligible. BLS – healthcare provider.
Experience, Training, Knowledge: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as technologist in a clinical setting.
Physical Requirements
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to fifty (50) pounds while administering care to patients, etc. Stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching daily in delivery of patient care, obtaining equipment, etc. Standing and walking more than five (5) hours per day in administering patient care in multiple rooms. Running occasionally in responding to patient care emergencies. Reaching, grasping, handling, and/or feeling five (5) or more hours per day in administering patient care, i.e. operating various radiologic equipment.
Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures
Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, proximity to moving mechanical parts. Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary.

ASH IMMUNIZATIONS AND VACCINATIONS REQUIREMENTS – Aligns with CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for Healthcare Personnel
- Hepatitis B- Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Hepatitis B or three doses Hep B vaccine at appropriate intervals
- Influenza- documentation of current seasonal flu vaccine (mandatory from November 1st through March 31st each year)
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella - Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or 2 doses of MMR Vaccination
- Varicella (chickenpox) - Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Varicella or 2 doses of Varicella Vaccine
- Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) - documented proof of immunization
- Tuberculosis Screening - Documentation of a two-step TB skin test within the past year OR lab verification of a negative TB Gold or T-Spot tuberculin test within the past 6 months
