One 1.0 FTE Instructional Coach at Bolton Center School.
The Instructional Coach provides 1) instructional interventions; 2) professional development and coaching; and 3) curriculum, assessment, and program improvement for all content areas primarily in grades K- 5. This teacher leadership position provides direct support to both students and teachers to meet the needs of all learners in the general classroom. The Instructional Coach is a teaching position that reports to and is supervised by the Building Principal and Director of Instructional Technology and Curriculum.
Essential responsibilities of the Instructional Coach may include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with teachers individually and collectively to identify the needs of students, set learning goals and problem solve to develop best practices for the continuous academic growth.
Regularly meet with classrooms teachers to plan instruction correlating with individual student needs and to support regular classroom instruction.
Teach targeted intervention to small groups and individual students daily using researched-based strategies and resources.
Coordinate and facilitate data meetings.
Attend and present professional development to enhance knowledge of pedagogy and content.
Related Responsibilities: Prepares necessary reports, conducts and attends necessary meetings, and performs related duties as assigned. Consideration will be given to candidates with exceptional teaching talent, experience working with teachers, leadership abilities, a collaborative orientation to problem solving, strong communication skills, knowledge of developmental reading and writing needs and the reciprocal nature of reading and writing, and knowledge of CT Core Standards.
