About This Opportunity

As the Senior Manager, Strategic Operations, you’ll be the strategic partner to the Faculty Executive, leading the design and delivery of initiatives that enable excellence across governance, operations, and people strategy.

You’ll manage a high-performing team made up of two Project Managers and the Executive Assistant team, provide expert advice on financial and resource planning, and oversee strategic projects that align with UQ’s broader vision. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Delivering high-level, politically contextualised advice across strategy, governance, and operations. 

  • Managing strategic projects and initiatives from scoping to delivery. 

  • Building strong internal and external networks to support strategic priorities. 

This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW Level 9, with a base salary in the range of $135,300 – $143,081 plus 17% superannuation.

The role is based at our Herston campus, with an expectation to travel between other campuses, including St Lucia and Dutton Park.

About You

You’re a strategic thinker and experienced leader with a passion for enabling organisational success. You bring: 

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive and confidential matters. 

  • Proven stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities. 

  • Strong judgement, problem-solving, and project management skills. 

  • Expertise in policy interpretation, report writing, and team leadership. 

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check.
