Position Summary

The Ingredient Control Supervisor supervises and improve operations of the Ingredient Control Department.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Supervise & train all Ingredient Control Technicians. 
  • Promote a safe, positive, productive work environment. 
  • Engage in continuous improvement of departmental processes. 
  • Enforce procedures regarding Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure sanitary production, highest level of quality according to customer specifications. 
  • Maintain adherence to standards set forth by FSMA. 
  • Create and maintain SOP’s for all aspects of Ingredient Control processes. 
  • Enforce Master Sanitation Schedule tasks amongst Ingredient Control Technicians and correct deficiencies. 
  • Assume responsibility for all ingredients in all CBG locations. 
  • Verify & Maintain inventory of ingredients through daily cycle counts. Enforce First to Expire, First Out principle. 
  • Use SAP as necessary to manage various inventory transactions. 
  • Verify all required documentation is being completed correctly on an ongoing basis. 
  • Maintain organized digital storage system for ingredient documentation. 
  • Ensure C.F.R.111 ingredient documentation and testing is completed. 
  • Adjust production to accommodate schedule changes via interdepartmental cooperation. 
  • Work with, communicate, and accompany customers, suppliers, and auditors when onsite in a professional manner. 
  • Facilitate 24/7 production by maintaining phone/e-mail availability and providing advance notice of unavailability. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

Position Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Math, Reasoning & Computer/Modern Technology skills.
  • Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Forklift experience required for this position.   Internal training/certification provided upon hire.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work in wet, humid, or outdoor conditions.  The employee is also exposed to varying temperatures extremes including heat and cold as the weather varies.  The employee is occasionally exposed to work on elevated platforms, with fumes or airborne particles, or with toxic or caustic chemicals.  This employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
