The Office of Mentoring, Retention, & Success Programs is seeking candidates for a Programming Intern.
The Programming Intern will support the successful planning and implementation of programs and events hosted by the Office of Mentoring, Retention, and Success Programs (MRSP). This role provides hands-on experience in event coordination, administrative support, and professional communication. Interns will gain valuable skills in time management, teamwork, and organizational operations while working closely with MRSP staff in a supportive, student-centered environment.
Main Responsibilities:
Assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of MRSP programs and events.
Assist with attendance and record keeping, coordination event logistics, and set up.
Support daily office operations.
Learning Objectives:
Develop foundational skills in event planning by supporting the preparation and execution of several major MRSP programs or events, including managing logistics, setup, and post-event wrap-up.
Enhance administrative and organizational abilities by accurately maintaining attendance records and assisting with event documentation and follow-up within established timelines.
Strengthen interpersonal and professional communication skills by collaborating with staff and peers in weekly planning meetings and responding to requests and tasks in a timely, respectful manner.
Gain experience in day-to-day office management by assisting with general operations, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining a welcoming and productive office environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Good academic standing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
