We’re excited to launch a new state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding plant in partnership with several large homebuilders within the Greater Calgary Region. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new plant enables our group of homebuilding partners to significantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Calgary, AB.
To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Material Handler/ Forklift Operator to be responsible for the safe operation of machinery in order to move, transfer, and load finished building components.
What you will do:
Promote knowledge sharing among team members and departments to foster a culture of learning and growth.
Operate all types of lift devices such as forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, elevating platforms, lift beams, counterbalance, side loaders, swivel hooks and bobcats.
Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms and lifting devices.
Support inventory control with accurate documentation.
Provide on the job training to other employees.
Maintain safety standards in the workplace.
Follow quality control procedures.
Inform leadership of any issues that may impact production.
Ensure that the required materials and supplies are available.
Participate actively in problem solving sessions, continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform additional duties as required.
What you will need to succeed:
Valid Forklift license
3 years + of experience in Material Handler position.
Capable of operating Forklift, Overhead Crane, Hoists, Elevating Platforms, Lift Beams, Counterbalance, Side Loaders, Swivel Hooks and Bobcats.
Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Organized, focused and persistent with the ability to work to the plan and meet delivery dates
Excellent problem solver and quick learner
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Knowledge of Company health and safety rules.
Knowledge of imperial and metric measurement systems.
Ability to adapt to changing environment.
Knowledge of rigging.
