This position reports directly to the Facility Security Officer. The Industrial Security Key Management Infrastructure / Communications Security (KMI/COMSEC) Specialist is responsible for the accurate and efficient management of BIW’s COMSEC and KMI program.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as BIW’s primary COMSEC Account Manager with responsibility for all Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) and keying material.
- Maintain accurate records and accountability of COMSEC material.
- Ensure full compliance with NSA, DoD, and other agency-specific COMSEC policies and guidance.
- Perform key inventory audits, reconciliations, and routine account inspections in accordance with regulatory schedules.
- Support the implementation and management of electronic key delivery systems and modern cryptographic distribution platforms.
- Coordinate key ordering, destruction, issue, and transfer with appropriate authorities.
- Maintain secure physical storage and proper safeguarding of CCI devices and material.
- Train alternat custodians and U.S. Navy personnel on key handling, reporting procedures, and emergency destruction.
- Participate in incident response involving COMSEC spills, losses, or compromise.
- Interface with program managers and maintain strong relationships with Defense Counterintelligence & Security Agency (DCSA), NAVSEA, and SUPSHIP.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a final Top-Secret clearance
- Prior experience in Industrial Security and the protection of controlled and classified information, particularly COMSEC, is preferred.
- Working knowledge of compliance and guidance using the National Industrial Security Program Operations Manual (NISPOM) is preferred.
- KMI/COMSEC Certification is preferred.
- Security + Certification is preferred.
