Kiniksa has a rapidly growing Patient Services team which supports patients who have been prescribed Kiniksa’s first commercialized product, ARCALYST.   As patients on therapy and team size continue to grow, Kiniksa is looking for an experienced, executive leader to drive innovation and accountability across the team’s service offerings.  The individual in this position must be a champion for patients suffering from the disease/s that we are seeking to support and determined to lead a function that will deliver the best possible patient care by compliantly working across the health care system.  

The Vice President of US Patient Services will lead the strategic development of the patient services operations for Kiniksa’s approved product, as well as planning for future pipeline candidates to reach the market.  The role is ultimately responsible for leading and evolving our patient services team and its services to ensure the function is optimized for the next stage in our growth.  

This role is based in our Lexington, MA headquarters, five days in the office.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Develop patient services’ immediate and long-term strategy to ensure the department is optimized and ready to deliver care both now and in the future.   
  • Lead a best-in-class patient support program geared towards the best possible customer experience for patients, patient’s caregivers, and prescriber offices.
  • Build plans to ensure scale and optimization aligned with the product life-cycle and expectation on the commercial ramp of patient
  • Take the lead in liaising and presenting to cross-functional members and Kiniksa’s Senior Leadership team regarding all areas of the department including planning, coaching, development and direction of the team and the function’s services
  • Keep up to date with Federal and state policy changes that impact patient services 
  • Ultimate budget holder of the function, working with cross-functional partners, including finance on budgetary items tracking and management.  
  • Oversight of the updating and writing of functional Standard Operating Procedures 
  • Hold team accountable to high standards, leveraging metrics, clear and consistent communication, and motivational skills to drive team performance.
  • Ensure the function is fully compliant with applicable laws and company policies in all aspects of program operations

Qualifications:

  • Requires a BA or BS degree (advanced degree preferred) with 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry with at least 10 years of experience working in patient services / hub services and experience with direct strategic responsibilities for the patient services.
  • Past experience in successfully running and improving in-house Patient Services
  • Proven experience in reporting and presenting to Senior Executives across the business
  • Budgetary responsibility for all Patient Service initiatives 
  • Proven leadership, strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Experience in rare diseases / specialty medicines is highly desirable
  • Experience includes responsibilities for strategy development, departmental/functional business planning and resource development and management.
  • Proven record of strong internal and external relationships, including ability to effectively liaise with patient advocates
  • Experience building a comprehensive patient services program in the pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable
  • This role is Lexington, MA based and requires 4 days a week in the office. 
  • Requires up to 10% domestic travel
