The Cardiology II department at Bryn Mawr Medical Specialists Association is seeking a part-time or per-diem Vascular Sonographer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be an essential part of our patient care team, using your expertise in vascular imaging to assist in diagnosing and managing various vascular conditions. Your daily responsibilities will involve performing non-invasive diagnostic tests using ultrasound technology to assess blood flow and identify potential health issues. Responsibilities
- Perform vascular ultrasound examinations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all findings in the appropriate systems.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to discuss patient results and diagnostic images.
- Ensure the proper operation of ultrasound equipment and assist in its maintenance and calibration.
- Educate patients about the procedures they will undergo and provide support to alleviate any concerns.
- Follow safety and infection control protocols thoroughly while conducting procedures.
- Stay current with advancements in vascular sonography technology and best practices.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program with a specialization in vascular technology.
- Current certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or equivalent credential.
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-directed.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to interpret ultrasound images accurately.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not required.
