Job Summary
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $144,200 - $350,000 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Three (3) to Five years’ Nurse Practitioner experience
- Master's degree in nursing or related area
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise a team and to manage the complex workflow and competing priorities involved with providing quality care as a nurse practitioner.
- Solid knowledge of the clinical and operational issues for nurse practitioners performing advanced-practice nursing within departments and specialty areas, including evaluation, testing, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as patient-care concepts, policies, outcomes measurement, quality standards, ethics issues, quality improvement, and continuing staff education and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) to two (2) years supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership and project/program management in APP role.
- Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document staff issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations with all levels of clinical staff and management, consultants, researchers, and outside agencies.
- Solid written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports, documentation, analyses, and project proposals.
- Knowledge of clinical and administrative software and specialized applications and data management systems used by nurse practitioners in providing advanced-practice nursing care, research, documentation, and employee supervision.
