The Teacher Support Facilitator will provide targeted professional development, mentoring, and coaching to new and international teachers to support their successful integration into the school system. This position will play a critical role in ensuring teacher retention, fostering instructional excellence, and promoting student achievement through comprehensive support programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Develop and deliver district professional development sessions on instructional strategies, classroom management, curriculum implementation, and district policies.
•Assist in the planning and facilitation of new teacher and international teacher orientation sessions.
•Provide individualized coaching to new and international teachers through regular classroom observations, feedback sessions, and modeling effective teaching practices.
•Conduct regular check-ins with new and international teachers to assess progress, provide support, and address challenges.
•Collaborate with the district BT/Mentor Support Coordinator to train and support mentors who are paired with new and international teachers.
•Collaborate with school administrators to identify areas of need for new teacher support and to align efforts with school improvement goals.
•Serve as a liaison between the district, school administration, and new/international teachers to address concerns, provide guidance, and ensure a smooth transition.
•Develop resources and tools to support teachers in understanding state standards, lesson planning, and effective assessment practices.
•Maintain documentation of coaching sessions, teacher progress, and program outcomes to inform continuous improvement efforts.
•Promote a positive and inclusive culture that supports professional growth and celebrates diversity in the teaching workforce.
•Commit to attending and participating in professional learning opportunities.
•Other duties as assigned.

•Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
•Knowledge of North Carolina's Standard Course of Study is preferred.
•Knowledge of best practices in differentiated instruction, inclusive education, and the specific needs of AIG, ML, and EC populations.
Physical Requirements
•Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
•Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift objects.
•Must possess the visual acuity to operate required office equipment and inspect work for accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to work standards and instructions.
•Must possess the visual acuity to prepare data, work with records processes, and do extensive reading and research.
Minimum Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
•Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience in a K-12 setting; experience mentoring or coaching teachers is highly preferred.
•Proven record of improving student achievement at the school or district level with supporting data.

Salary: North Carolina Central Office Salary Schedule
Classification: Exempt
This is a 12-month position.
