Summit Public Schools is seeking a skilled and reliable maintenance technician to join our facilities team. This role is responsible for the maintenance repair and optimization of both our buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance inspections and repairs throughout our Buildings, Grounds, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including health and safety codes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Strong knowledge of grounds maintenance and grounds equipment, including but not limited to hardscaping, plantings, and pruning
Knowledge of carpentry, painting, spackling, and general construction
Overall understanding of cleaning procedures inclusive of stripping floors, scrubbing, and waxing
Snowplowing and snow removal
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in a school, commercial, or institutional setting
High school diploma or equivalent, technical school or trade licenses
Valid New Jersey driver’s license
Black seal boilers license or willing to obtain within 1 year of employment
