CLOSINGDATE: Until Filled REPORTSTO: Building Administrator(s) SALARY: $20.85 to $26.25 per hour to start, depending on experience. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This 8 hour position begins on August 21, 2025.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position serves as a support to students and staff to assist students in engaging in school and monitoring the grounds to help students get reconnected in the school building. Supervises and assists students throughout the school site to help keep them engaged in school and supports teachers as necessary.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent
Ability to communicate fluently both verbally and in writing in English and Spanish
Ability to read and analyze documents such as safety rules, instructions, and governmental regulations
Ability to effectively present information to parents, students, administrators, and school staff
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
As determined by the District, certificates include valid CPR/first aid cards and bloodborne pathogen training.
General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use database software, internet software, email, and word processing software.
Ability to work patiently and calmly with children and adults
Ability to effectively oversee a large number of students and events
Learn and implement strategies to intervene and deescalate confrontations between students
Skill in providing direction, suggestions, and encouragement to students
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
Work independently and make decisions within the framework of established guidelines
Physical demands: Ability to talk or hear and sit. Ability to frequently walk; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Ability to occasionally stand and stoop, kneel or crouch. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow all District policies and procedures.
Supervise and control students on or near the grounds during school hours and after-school events. Ensure compliance with school, district, and state laws, policies, procedures, and safety rules.
May provide first aid assistance within the scope of district policies.
Keep school officials informed of the safety conditions of campus equipment.
Conduct campus safety surveillance
Enforce campus regulations during class periods
Inspect locker rooms, parking lots, and restrooms as part of the daily routine, looking for loitering students, graffiti, or other problem areas.
Monitor commons, hallways, and grounds to ensure proper behavior from students
Monitor detention and ISS when necessary
Assist Administrations and Student management in enforcing school and district rules, regulations, and policies regarding discipline
Escort students and visitors to designated locations as needed
Attend extra-curricular activities as assigned by building administration to provide student supervision
Assist before, during, and after school bus and parking lot supervision
Assist as a witness during student searches
Other duties as assigned
