POSITION FUNCTION SUMMARY
To empower students with the skills to become responsible citizens within their own abilities.
Accurately demonstrates knowledge of the content area and approved curriculum.

Required
High School diploma or GED.
Possess or qualify for a New Mexico Educational Assistant License.
Must be able to pass employment verification.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Must successfully complete 18 college hours a year (C or better).
Must be enrolled in an education program at a college or university.
Transcripts and updated degree plans are required each year before being considered for rehire.
Must be successful as a student intern as evaluated by the principal and cooperating teacher.
Must obtain a NMPED license as both a Substitute Teacher and Instructional Assistant.
Must be able to pass HB 128 background check and state and federal background check.
Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
Additional qualifications as may be appropriate for a specific position.
