About the Department
The Information Systems Operations Analyst 2 performs technical and professional duties involved in designing, installing, or supporting information technology services such as server, e-mail, and desktop. Performs related duties as required.

Position Duties
- May create computer programs in accordance with established specifications.
- Writes programs for mainframe, mini- and/or micro-computers to automate routine office procedures.
- Modifies existing programs as needed.
- Provides on-site customer support services as needed.
- May provide help-desk support via telephone to information technology users.
- May perform some routine systems analysis functions.
- Prepares written and oral reports as needed.
- Attends meetings, workshops, and training classes as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years of experience in information technology systems support or programming.

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
Other Qualifications
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of computer programming/languages, testing requirements, and systems analysis functions, such as file structure and record layout design
- Knowledge of database methodologies and on-line transaction processing
