Scope of Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Burrito Roller to join our kitchen team. The Burrito Roller is responsible for assembling, filling, and rolling burritos to perfection, ensuring each order meets our quality and presentation standards. This role is essential to delivering a great customer experience and maintaining our reputation for delicious, consistently prepared food.

Requirements

Mission Critical Competencies

  • Roll burritos consistently and according to product specifications (size, tightness, and fold pattern)
  • Verify product integrity (e.g., correct filling, tortilla condition) before rolling
  • Maintain target line speed (20 per minute) while minimizing product defects and waste (3%)
  • Ensure uniform weight and appearance of each burrito
  • Position burritos correctly for downstream processes (e.g., packaging, freezing)
  • Communicate any quality issues or product deviations to leads immediately
  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and hygiene protocols
  • Participate in line clean-up, changeovers, and sanitation as needed
  • Complete basic production tracking forms or count sheets as required
  • Work collaboratively with teammates to meet hourly and daily production goals

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend information
  • Highly collaborative — demonstrated ability to share knowledge and information at different levels of the organization, contributing to a team that is always raising the bar for excellence and innovation.
  • Work well with other cross-functional partners, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability,
  • Previous experience in food preparation or a fast-paced kitchen environment is a plus,but not required.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining high quality.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend information.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize subtle quality defects quickly.
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs, quality standards, and work instructions accurately.
  • Basic math skills for performing weight checks and completing inspection records.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and arm motions.
  • Ability to lift to 30 lbs as needed.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working in a high-speed food manufacturing environment
  • 1 year or more of experience in a food production
  • Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP principles, and food safety standards
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with variable temperature zones (hot and cold environments).
  • Exposure to raw and cooked food ingredients; strict PPE compliance required.
  • Standing, bending, and repetitive hand and arm movements throughout shifts (up to 10 hours).
  • Frequent lifting and carrying materials up to 30 lbs.
