Hybrid Golf Course Assistant Mechanic at Long Cove Club

Long Cove Club, Hilton Head Island’s premier private golf community, is looking for a Golf Course Assistant Mechanic to join our dedicated Golf Course Maintenance team. This hands-on role supports the upkeep and performance of our fleet of turf maintenance equipment, ensuring optimal playing conditions on our award-winning Pete Dye course.

Your Responsibilities:

•  Diagnose, repair, and maintain mowing equipment, utility vehicles, and small engines

•  Perform routine servicing, lubrication, and adjustments

•  Inspect, change, and repair tires

•  Maintain knowledge of hydraulic systems and components

•  Support fabrication, bodywork, and painting projects as needed

•  Clean and maintain work areas and tools

•  Assist with cutting unit adjustments and reel sharpening

•  Operate maintenance equipment as needed to support the grounds crew

•  Help train team members on proper equipment use and maintenance

•  Prioritize safety in all tasks and uphold equipment best practices

•  When servicing of equipment is complete, will assist on maintenance crew and may operate mowing equipment

•  Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

•  Valid Driver’s License

•  Basic mechanical skills with both gas and diesel engines

•  Knowledge of hydraulic systems and small engine repair

•  Ability to read and follow manuals and instructions

•  Certification or equivalent experience preferred

•  Previous experience with golf course or turf equipment preferred

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

•  Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks including kneeling, crouching, standing, and walking for extended periods

•  Comfortable working in all weather conditions, around mechanical equipment, and in areas with noise, fumes, and vibration
