Hybrid Irrigation Specialist (full-time with FREE benefits) at Huntington Beach Union High SD

DEFINITION Under general supervision, installs, maintains, and repairs electric and hydraulic irrigation systems and controls for schools and District facilities; assists other grounds personnel as necessary in grounds maintenance work; and performs related work as required. LICENSE REQUIRED Possession of a valid and appropriate California driver's license. CERTIFICATION Obtain within six (6) months of employment a Backflow Prevention Device Tester certificate issued by the County of Orange. CLASS CHARACTERISTICS Incumbents in this class are expected to have skilled level experience and knowledge in all aspects testing, repairing backflow valves and in the assigned area to perform semi skilled and skilled tasks independently.

The position requires a Back Flow Prevention Device Tester Certificate or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment a Back Flow Prevention Device Tester certificate issued by the County of Orange. If you have your certificate, please attach it to your application.

Employees are eligible for a step increase on their salary anniversary date each year, up to the maximum step 5 of this salary range.

This is an Open recruitment. The current position is located at the District Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation department. The eligibility list will be valid for one year and used to fill the current open position and used for future vacancies throughout the District during that time span. Final selection of appointees will be made from the top three ranks who are “ready and willing” to accept an assignment.
