Duties
Duties include but are not limited to: Plans, directs, and implements a comprehensive commercial sponsorship and marketing program in support of a variety of NRO events. Promotes the highest possible degree of program participation and cooperation through program planning and presentation and through effective public relations methods and techniques. Researches, solicits, and executes commercial sponsorship partnerships for all NRO races and events in accordance with applicable higher headquarters and local level policy. Originates commercial sponsorship agreements, follow auditing guidelines, and submits for review by Legal Counsel prior to acceptance. Ensures special considerations and favored treatment are not provided to sponsors with the exception of the public recognition and advertising entitlements addressed in Commercial Sponsorship agreements. Executes daily public relations-related duties, digital and social media platform content management, website management, photography, and videos, in support of the NRO structure. Prepares and presents creative concepts and accompanying marketing plans. Communicates information using state of the art equipment clearly, concisely, and in order to produce desired effect or outcome. Develops, writes, and produces a wide variety of advertising media. Monitors the usage of registered trademarks, the Navy name, the Navy logos and the "Navy's Marquee Race" and several other events' trademarks. Ensures reviews of agreements for use plus quality control enforcement of standards for use. Plans, organizes, implements, and acts as master of ceremonies for NRO hosted events, such as the Dining In, Expos, Hall of Fame, press conferences, etc. Plans and coordinates with appropriate Navy Public Affairs Office POCs media coverage for all races. Conducts marketing research including surveys, demographics, needs assessments, focus groups and pricing reviews. Develops and manages the Marketing budget for the NRO. Ensures fiscal accountability of all commercial sponsorship and advertising, partnerships, and licensing agreements. Presents analyses of factual information used in developing strategies for promoting the NRO events. Sets up and breaks down events requiring on-site and active engagement.
Qualifications
Knowledge of DoD commercial sponsorship program policies, procedures, and techniques. Knowledge of commercial sponsorship and advertising agreement writing. Knowledge of community relations and public affairs techniques. Knowledge of marketing techniques and strategies for event promotion. Knowledge of applicable military protocols and procedures. Knowledge of and ability to conduct and analyze marketing research, including surveys, demographics, needs assessments, focus groups and pricing reviews. Skill in the use of state-of-the-art marketing/display equipment (projector, iOS, etc.) Skill in planning and coordinating media coverage for all races. Skill in facilitating press conferences. Knowledge of how to prepare and present creative concepts and marketing plans. Knowledge of target commercial businesses or categories enhancing the NRO programs. Skill in written and oral communication. Skill in organizing and handling numerous projects and events at one time. Skill in the use of a variety of communication and informational media methods and techniques to stimulate interest of a variety of publics, which have different levels of understanding. Skill in the use of a variety of informational marketing and media methods such as graphic arts, design, illustration, photographs, computers, broadcast, etc. Ability to develop a comprehensive commercial sponsorship and advertising plan for a Race Organization. Ability to identify the characteristics of target audiences and determine the most effective sources, methods, and techniques to use in reaching patrons. Ability to analyze the results of information gathering techniques, surveys, inquiries, etc. to improve upon existing systems.
