Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!
We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.
Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!
About the role:
The Calibration team responsibility is to automatize the calibrations of our main Quantum Processing Unit (QPU), to extract its maximum of performance and to maintain the QPU in working conditions. As a Senior Software Engineer in this team, you will play a central role in designing the architecture of the automatic calibration software. You will be working hand in hand with quantum scientists of the team to develop, maintain, and optimize the calibrations. You will also collaborate with software engineers across the company to ensure the smooth integration of the team software with other in-house software components.
Responsibilities:
Develop the automatic calibration script architecture and framework
Propose and implement innovative software components aimed at enhancing the efficiency of automatic calibrations
Manage code repository, version control, and oversee software deployment processes and architecture to ensure code quality and stability
Support the development of calibration procedures by quantum scientists and ensure software development good practices
Ensure the integration of the script in the overall product of Alice & Bob
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in Software development.
Solid experience with Industrial/Commercial Python.
Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Interest in embedded software and hardware control
Professional-level English proficiency, both written and spoken.
Experience with automation frameworks is a plus.
Experience with signal processing is a plus
Experience with continuous testing approaches and product development is a plus.
No prior knowledge of quantum mechanics is necessary but a willingness to learn some basics of quantum processor control is important.
Benefits:
25-day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTT
Half of transportation cost coverage (as per French law), or yearly allowance for bike enthusiasts
Competitive health benefits with Helium/AXA
Meal vouchers with Swile, as well as access to a fully equipped kitchen
