Job Description:
Performs unskilled tasks in supervising authorized use and maintenance of buildings, athletic fields and outdoor sports courts for Recreation and Sports programs.
The work of this class is of an unskilled nature and the employee is responsible for willing and efficient performance of assigned tasks. General supervision is provided by the Recreation Coordinator, Sports Coordinator, or Sports Assistant Coordinator. Performs minor custodial duties and is routinely observant of maintenance or repair problems; follows through with necessary action to correct condition or alert appropriate supervisor to ensure same.
Essential Job Functions
Maintains accurate attendance records.
Collects authorized fees and performs basic administrative duties
Completes accurate and timely required reports pertaining to fees.
Keeps accurate records pertaining to various leagues, team rosters and officials.
Ensures proper or authorized use of buildings and athletic fields during sports and recreation program activities.
Assists the Sports Office with skill evaluations scheduled for various park locations prior to the season beginning.
Performs minor custodial duties appropriate to sports and recreation programs such as mopping, dusting, picking up litter.
Ensures proper care and use of all sports and recreation equipment.
Ensures safe and proper conduct of all persons who attend Sports and Recreation programs at the assigned facility.
Maintains order and enforces all recreation, park and school regulations relating to the use of the facility. Reports any incidents of conduct or unusual circumstances to Sports, Community & Well-Being (SCWB) staff.
Coordinates the use of the school building, athletic fields, and outdoor sports courts as it relates to recreation programs.
Serve as a substitute scorekeeper at athletic programs, as needed.
Staffs special events as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (These are pre-employment KSA that apply only to Essential Job Functions.)
Ability to--
Oversee proper use of facilities and maintain them in good condition.
Maintain and prepare required records in an accurate and timely manner.
Deal effectively with the public and school staff.
Read, write and perform simple arithmetic.
Required Qualifications (Note: Any acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted on a full-time year for year basis.)
Training and/or Education:
Completion of tenth grade.
Experience:
Six months experience working with the public.
Licenses or Certificates:
CPR and First Aid certificates are desirable.
Special Requirements:
Subject to background investigation.
Must be 16 years of age. Work Permit required if under 18 years of age.
Physical Demands:
Requires long periods of standing, frequent walking indoors, repeated bending, crouching, stooping, stretching or reaching; recurring lifting of objects up to 49 pounds; operation of keyboard devices.

Pay rate: $19.04 per hour
