Receiving Clerk (Temp to Perm)

The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we�ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners � including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

About the Role:
The Receiving Clerks are responsible for conducting visual inspection of inbound products, verifying BOL counts, and receiving all inbound products into ACFB�s WMS. Receiving Clerks must prioritize safety throughout the warehouse and when operating warehouse equipment. They must also maintain a safe and clean work environment. Receiving Clerks conduct additional work as warehouse demands deem necessary and appropriated by ACFB management. This position reports to the Supervisor, Operations.
What You will Do:
Warehousing
-
Provide support to Operations team by receiving all inbound products into the warehouse management system.

Properly label all inbound deliveries and allocate them to their designated bin location.

Verify the accuracy of all shipping and receiving documentation (bills of lading, invoices, etc.) track the movement of incoming product.

Confirm the accuracy of counts, weights and/or other measurements of all inventories received and/or shipped

Collaborate and communicate with internal departments to ensure all products received are of the highest quality and ACFB standard.

Document differences in inventory count and any material damages to incoming products.

Updating inventory as products are received and added to the inventory.
Food & Warehouse Safety

Maintain Food Safety and Housekeeping requirements in all warehouse operations

Ensure proper storage temperatures and conditions are maintained, tracked, and recorded

Keep all floor areas organized, free of debris, water or other potential contaminants or hazards

Follow Personnel Safety procedures

Inspect warehouse equipment for proper and safe operation prior to using

Wear and utilize all required PPE and safety equipment / tools
-
Perform other duties as assigned

What You�ll Need: Skills your resume should demonstrate:

Must be a certified or licensed lift truck operator with standup lift experience

Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Office, etc.)

Must be able to work in varying temperature environments

Demonstrated good oral and written communications skills

Ability to work weekends, and various hours based on the needs of the operation

Employee is routinely required to lift and transport heavy items to waist level, up to 75 lbs.

Required to drive a Stand-up forklift, ride on Electric pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

Frequently operates in temperature conditions consistent with outside weather. Frequently transition between ambient and refrigerator / freezer temperatures.
