Job Summary
SUMMARY
New Los Angeles Elementary Charter School (New LA) is seeking passionate, well organized teachers who are interested in the primary elementary grades, specifically kindergarten and are seeking a small school environment where teacher voice is valued and leadership opportunities are available. New LA is looking for outstanding, data-driven educators with a strong foundation in the Common Core State Standards and whose teaching beliefs and practices are rooted in anti-racist, culturally responsive pedagogy.
CURRICULUM
New LA seeks teachers with expertise, interest and willingness to learn in the following areas:
Project-based and student-centered learning
Science of reading aligned ELA curriculum: Superkids, Read Side by Side and Simplify Writing
??Integrated and designated ELD: Best practices such as structured talk, quick writes, small group work throughout the day
Math: Cognitively Guided Instruction methodologies, Math workshop structures
Science: Amplify Science, kit-based experiments, environmental awareness
Social Studies: social justice focus, integration with ELA, project based learning and teacher created units
Computer Coding: taught with a partner organization, professional development provided
Arts Integration: partnering with arts education organizations to provide art both integrated with regular curriculum and in specific arts classes

New LA offers a competitive salary ranging from $61,914-$107,961 for fully credentialed teachers. Faculty members also receive a generous package of medical benefits, and enrollment in the California State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) retirement plan
