EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, Transportation Planning, Public Administration, or a related field, plus ten (10) years of experience implementing fleet maintenance programs, of which five (5) years is in a supervisory or management role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in a transit environment preferred.

  • Experience managing a large union staff preferred.

  • Must possess a valid State of Illinois Driver’s License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be capable of walking long distances in inclement weather conditions.

  • Requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time and constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Detailed knowledge of the principles, policies, and practices of heavy maintenance programs.
