Hope House Treatment Center is a non-profit dual diagnosis treatment center with locations in Crownsville and Laurel, Maryland. We are dedicated to providing men and women who are battling drug and alcohol addictions with the means to become healthy and productive citizens, equipped with the tools for a life of sobriety and recovery. We are staffed by a caring, experienced team of professionals that include addiction trained nurses, a physician, certified counselors, associate counselors, and treatment aides. We provide medical and nursing care twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Hope House Treatment Center is seeking a Facilities Porter/ Custodial Staff to support projects, both exterior and interior.
JOB SUMMARY: The Porter is responsible for various housekeeping and maintenance tasks for their designated work site. Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor they are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of private and public spaces, as well ensure all assigned maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner, consistent with organizational standards for organization and appearance.
PORTER JOB DUTIES:
- Performs assigned facility maintenance activities to include regular maintenance on all equipment, the building, and grounds.
- Identifies facility problems and reports needed repairs to Facilities Supervisor in a timely fashion.
- Responds to assigned work orders in a timely manner.
- Provides direct transportation when required.
- Performs housekeeping duties as assigned, including but not limited to:
- Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures
- Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, showers/tubs, countertops, and sinks
- Keep bathroom and washrooms stocked with appropriate toiletries
- Maintaining clean and sanitary public and private spaces
- Bed turn overs which include making beds and changing linens
- Washing windows and mirrors
- Vacuuming, sweeping, or mopping to keep clean floors
- Sorting, washing, loading, unloading, and folding linens and towels
- Monitoring cleaning supplies and requesting more as needed.
- Reporting any necessary repairs or replacements
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
