Position Overview:

The Service Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance and productivity of the in-house and mobile service team, including laminators, finishers, electricians, plumbers, riggers, and detailers. This hands-on leadership role ensures that all in-house service tasks are completed correctly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. In addition, the team lead will work closely with mobile technicians executing field-based service and warranty work. The ideal candidate will possess both technical knowledge and strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead, delegate, train, and inspect work across trades. Must be bilingual. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Task Delegation:
    1. Supervise in-house service personnel and assign daily tasks to laminators, finishers, plumbers, electricians, riggers, and detailers based on project priorities.
    2. Monitor progress on service projects to ensure adherence to timelines.
    3. Serve as the direct point of contact for all in-house and mobile team members; reporting directly to the Manager, Customer Experience.
  • Quality Control and Process Oversight:
    1. Perform spot checks and inspections of ongoing service projects.
    2. Ensure all repairs and technical tasks are performed in accordance with company quality standards.
    3. Identify inefficiencies or quality issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Technical Support:
    1. Provide hands-on guidance when needed, including demonstrating proper skills and techniques to complete a repair.
    2. Train team members on job expectations, procedures, and safety practices.
    3. Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex repairs.
  • Coordination and Communication:
    1. Collaborate with other departments including production, engineering, procurement, and quality control to prioritize project timelines.
    2. Maintain records of daily tasks, completed repairs, and effectively communicate progress to management.
    3. When in the field, effectively communicate with customers the repair process and progress.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    1. Ensure all work areas and practices adhere to safety policies.
    2. Enforce use of proper PPE and safe equipment handling procedures.
    3. Maintain a clean work environment to avoid hazards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • 5+ years of experience in a marine manufacturing or service environment, with a deep understanding of MEP systems, fiberglass lamination, rigging and finishing.
  • Demonstrated team management or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience trailering boats safely, including high-traffic city environments.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and willingness to travel extensively, including after hours and occasional weekends.
  • Technologically proficient; must be comfortable using Jira, Excel, email, text, and mobile apps for documentation and communication.
  • Ability to delegate and follow up on technical tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with boat construction, systems, and repair processes is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-performance and/or center-console boats.
  • Marine diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of fiberglass repair and cosmetic finishing techniques.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs and perform work in confined spaces including bilges and hatches.
  • Comfortable working in a production floor environment.
