Requirements:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a proven track record in customer service. Secondary market lending experience is preferred. Familiarity with Byte loan origination software is a plus.
Must demonstrate a positive attitude, professional image, and be self-motivated and have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Essential Functions:
- Assist Mortgage Loan Officers with originating and completing mortgage loan applications. May include following up on leads and scheduling in person and Zoom appointments for the Mortgage Loan Officer.
- Process secondary market quality real estate loans and reviews and evaluates all files for readiness prior to submission for underwriting.
- Utilize knowledge of secondary market guidelines to fully analyze employment, income, asset and credit information provided by borrowers.
- Contact members regarding items including but not limited to loan status, loan documentation, changes to loan terms, final loan conditions, etc.
- Apply basic property valuation knowledge for review of appraisals prior to underwriting.
- Maintain working knowledge of all Federal and Investor guidelines, including TRID in order to accurately apply them to loan files.
- Works closely with Mortgage Loan Processor to ensure all required reports and services are ordered, rates are locked and points calculated on each file.
- Perform basic administrative duties required to execute all tasks, i.e., scanning, filing, emailing, etc.
- Obtains required NMLS licensure and works with Training & Development to complete annual training required to maintain license.
- Adheres to established internal policies and procedures for compliance; completes required compliance training in a timely manner and complies with all regulations within scope of the position.
- Adheres to the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act and anti-money laundering regulations.
- Accurately completes Currency Transaction Reports, follows internal procedures to report suspicious activity to the BSA Department, and collects required information to comply with the Customer Identification/Due Diligence Program and to meet other record keeping requirements defined by the Bank Secrecy Act.

- Represent the Credit Union with honesty, integrity and trust at all times, and confidentiality is of the utmost importance.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the credit union’s loan policy and loan programs.
- Maintain a general knowledge of all of the credit union’s products and services.
- Possess a detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software applications that is adequate to perform the duties assigned.
- Ability to perform basic accounting and math principles.
- Provide exemplary service and foster teamwork throughout the credit union.
- Ensure good working relationships with Appraisers, Title Companies, Realtors, etc.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with members, coworkers and management.
- Support the Leadership Team.
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions within responsibility level.
- Maintain punctuality while adhering to the assigned work schedule.
- Attend all required meetings unless prior approval is granted.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Potential exposure to the threat of violence at any time.
- Occasional business travel may be required.
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time may be required.
- Repetitive motions and extensive keyboarding may be required.
