Description

Georgetown Market has an immediate opening for a Cashier – Customer Service. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends. We are looking for an efficient, courteous cashier-customer service associate who possesses excellent customer service skills. 


Essential Functions:

  • Main cashier duties and responsibilities include ringing up sales, bagging items, requesting price checks, honoring coupons, collecting payment, and giving appropriate change.
  • Responsible for counting the contents of the cash register drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, maintaining receipts, records, and withdrawals. Making sure there is adequate change.
  • Responsible for checking materials and supplies and reporting when stock is low.
  • Make sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introduce new products.
  • Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information.
  • Greet customers when entering or leaving Georgetown Market.
  • Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas. 
  • Keep reports of transactions.
  • Process returns and check to see if items are damaged.
  • Answer customers' questions and get a manager if answer does not solve the issue.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
Requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Knowledge of commonly used cashier concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Works under immediate supervision of supervisor or manager and must rely on instructions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math.
  • Telephone etiquette.
  • Dependability, efficiency, punctuality, and flexibility.
  • Basic (PC) computer knowledge.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high level of accuracy.
  • Commitment to company values and exceeding the customer’s expectations.

Physical Summary:
