Duties
Plans and directs the economic and efficient operation of the Strike Zone Snack Bar to include providing food and beverage services, kitchen operations, and catering services. Reviews, coordinates with their supervisor and develop menus. Established and maintains cost cards for all menu items. Works closely with the Bowling Center staff to provide food and beverage options to the patrons of the Strike Zone Snack Bar. Utilizes Point of Sale system to monitor and control the food and beverage operation. Coordinates all catered special functions with the function host to ensure quality service. Responsible for procurement. Reviews special functions contract and ensures all arrangements are proper and requirements are accomplished as scheduled. Ensures financial standards are met and evaluates financial variances. Makes decisions or recommendations for corrective action regarding the expenditure of resources and with approval takes action as required. Responsible for the procurement and ordering of all food and supplies for snack bar operation. Develops annual NAF operating budget for the Strike Zone Snack Bar operations and updates at least quarterly. Always maintains acceptable kitchen sanitation standards. Responsible for the procurement and ordering of all food and supplies for snack bar operation. Develops annual NAF operating budget for the Sandbagger Grill operations and updates at least quarterly. Always maintains acceptable kitchen standards. Responsible for work force management, recruitment, and staff training. Develops work schedules, assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates and evaluates their work performance. Determines material, equipment and facilities needed to accomplish the work. Explains and gains the support of kitchen staff for management policies and goals. Initiates personnel actions to include hiring, promotions, awards, and performance evaluations. Initiates disciplinary or performance-based actions after coordinating with the NAF Human Resources Officer (HRO). Counsel employees and resolves concerns and grievances in an effective manner. Applies EEO concepts and maintains an appropriate work environment. Assists the Manager in daily operations, ensuring accuracy of daily reports. Maintains the security of cash and sales receipts, conducts monthly inventory, and maintains financial records. Designated as alternate building custodian. Performs other related duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers certificate and or complete Food Handlers training. A minimum of three years of progressive experience in a food and beverage operation is required. Applicant must have specific experience in concessions operations in the following areas: catering, food ordering, procurement, delivery, presentation, customer service, inventory control, budgeting, cash handling, and supervision. This experience may have been gained in the civilian or military food service operation. Knowledge of Qubica's Conqueror Pro POS system and military financial management is desirable. Must present a neat and clean appearance. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. May be required to work an irregular tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to conduct standard financial tasks such as cash handling and fund and property controls. May be required to move, handle, lift, etc. tables , chairs, and other equipment and furnishings up to 50 pounds in weight. Position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and reaching as needed. Must be able to lift over 50 pounds and satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Successful completion of a Tier 1 security clearance is required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Education
