REPORTS TO: Head Cook or Designee
MEMBER OF: Food Service Team
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma/GED equivalent
Ability to work with students in a positive manner
Able to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently
Physically able to perform duties assigned at sufficient speed
Effective organizational and communication skills
Ability to relate to students, parents and staff in a positive manner
Accurate, efficient and cheerful
Knowledgeable about meal pattern requirements; understands federal, state, and local program regulations
Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation procedures for food service
Mature ability to use judgment and be dependable
SUPERVISES:
Any student cafeteria help
JOB GOAL:
Responsible for operating the Point of Sale (POS) system and monitoring a 1:1 count for a reimbursable meal per USDA guidelines for elementary and high school lunch. Work is performed under the general supervision of the principal with consultation from the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform cashiering duties (1:1 count) with knowledge of meal pattern requirements for a reimbursable meal.
Operates the computer and runs daily reports as required.
Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills.
Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time.
Participates in training sessions and scheduled meetings as requested.
Assist with necessary food service operations during times of emergency.
Performs other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year as described in district policy.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Head Cook or Designee in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of support personnel.
