ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Provide friendly, fast, and helpful customer service, through the consistent practice and delivery of customer service to all guests and team members.

• Safeguard casino assets at all times.

• Manage supervisory staff to ensure consistent operations.  Train supervisors to ensure they have the necessary skills needed to effectively perform their duties.

• Responsible for schedules for Count Room personnel to ensure efficient operation. Maintain adequate parts inventory and supplies for daily functions.

• Provides leadership and supervision to count team, including for drop and count activities.

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring and training team members; planning, assigning and directing and delegating work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching team members; addressing concerns; and resolving problems.

• Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the internal control system and departmental policies and procedures.

• Coordinates with appropriate departments to develop and define drop routes, including submitting drop schedules to Casino management and to the Gaming Commission.

• Ensures efficient and proper use and maintenance of currency counting equipment.

• Identifies problems, makes recommendations and participates in process improvements as appropriate.

• Communicates information to other departments as appropriate, and provides detailed documentation for departmental procedures and updates.

• Understand and adhere to disciplinary policies including but not limited to counseling team members and the use of progressive discipline to modify poor performance.

• Effectively use, administer and manage rewards and recognition for front line team members.

• Recommend or oppose the change in status of team members including but not limited to changes from full time to part time, promotions, and transfers.

• Supervise and manage attendance and time records of team members.

• Effectively manage departmental expenses.

• Must adhere to regulatory, department and company policies. 

• Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.

• Performs other job related and compatible duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Three (3) or more years count room experience, including prior supervisory experience.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft applications 

• Ability to speak and communicate effectively with individuals and before groups of people

• Must have the ability to identify problems, collect data, analyze, and draw valid conclusions

• Must have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form

• Must be able to acquire and maintain appropriate gaming license

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents In English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.  Must be able to efficiently and accurately count money and gaming chips and make change. Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
