A wonderful family in Lynchburg, near Fun Quest, is seeking a reliable and flexible care provider to support a working parent with occasional backup childcare. Care is typically needed during standard working hours when regular childcare options are unavailable. Occasional school drop-offs may be required, and parents are usually able to provide at least two days’ notice.
Schedule: As needed - no guaranteed weekly hours

- Parents work schedule varies per week
- Typical schedule: Monday - Sunday 6am–2:30pm or 7am–3:30pm
- Usual Days off: Sundays & Thursdays (vary)
- Start times: as early as 5:30am
- End times: as late as 4pm
- Time span per visit: 8 to 9 hours

Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and engaging environment
- Entertain and supervise children during care hours
- Prep and serve meals/snacks
- Drive children to school in the mornings (less than 5 minutes from home) as needed
- Be punctual and flexible with a shifting schedule
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience caring for children in a similar age group
- CPR certification or willing to become certified
- Able to pass a background check, social media screening, motor vehicle report and provide proof of valid driver’s insurance
- Able to provide 2 references from paid, care-related work
- Comfortable with children who have ADHD (not required, but helpful)
- Reliable transportation and clean driving record (for school drop-offs)
Compensation + Benefits
This position pays $15–$20 per hour. The family is looking for flexible care, as needed. This position is ongoing, long term.
