SALARY: $18.98- $24.05, depending on experience.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: These 7-hour position begins August 21, 2025. This position is for 183 days per school year. Salary and benefits to be established in accordance with the negotiated Classified salary schedule.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Support teaching staff in a high school alternative education setting by implementing teacher-developed instructional activities, maintaining accurate student records, and assisting with classroom management and supervision. Perform additional related duties as assigned.
This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Meet ESSA requirements: two years (72+ quarter credits) college credit or successful completion of Work Keys test prior to hiring.
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred.
- Physical characteristics needed: ability to communicate with co-workers, students, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to hear (must respond to telephone, bells, students, co-workers, etc.); ability to see (must respond to classroom disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.); ability to operate office equipment; ability to carry or lift light loads (25 lbs) and occasionally climb a ladder.
PREFERENCES: - May be given to those who are bilingual in Spanish and English.
