Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through progressive discipline.
- Improve working conditions/processes (safety, quality, productivity, cost) and increase associate’s skills and capabilities. Improvements should include a thorough analysis using quantitative data (costs and savings) to support the effectiveness of the recommendation.
- Coach, teach, train, motivate and oversee Production Supervisors to accomplish the goals of the company. Follow-up as needed to ensure Production Supervisors understand the goals of the company and are working to achieve those goals.
- Ensure Production Supervisors understand the production priorities and ensure production lines are staffed to match priorities while also optimizing production efficiencies.
- Anticipate staffing concerns and coordinate training of appropriate personnel to minimize downtime due to attrition. Evaluate employees to determine lines of progression within company.
- Evaluate labor utilization, job responsibilities and duties.
- Track production efficiencies and evaluate improvements in order to achieve optimum operations.
- Evaluate recurring problems to address long-term solutions.
- Maintain communication with other departments including Maintenance, Quality and Scheduling.
- Communicate, administer and enforce company rules, policies and procedures consistently and equitably.
- Build cooperation and team spirit among Production Associates through effective utilization of employee relation skills.
- Responsible for ensuring food packaging safety, food defense and quality standards.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 6+ Years of related experience and/or degree in Business Management or other related field.
- Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment.
- Must be able to effectively manage time and to delegate responsibilities as needed.
- Must have good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to organize and plan work.
- Must display positive attitude.
- Ability to handle stress of deadlines and constantly changing priorities.
- Ability to develop and implement programs designed to enhance plant operation and to promote safety.
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must understand mechanical equipment.
- Must possess excellent computer skills.
- Ability to evaluate situation and make decisions with little or no guidance.
- Must be proactive and continuously looking for improvements in the production area.
