The Junior Payroll & Pension Administrator plays a vital role in supporting payroll deduction processes and pension scheme management within the organization. This position involves close collaboration with Group Finance to resolve payroll and PAYE balance sheet queries, as well as managing communications and inquiries from Head Office employees and pension scheme members.
You will be responsible for maintaining the pension administration system, liaising with pension providers (such as Scottish Widows), and ensuring the pension scheme complies with auto-enrolment legislation, including re-enrolment every three years. Additionally, you will assist with the smooth integration of new acquisitions into the pension scheme and manage all pension-related communications and contributions in line with payroll deadlines. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to supporting pension administration and compliance.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
* Liaising with the relevant Group Finance regarding payroll deduction, pension control and PAYE balance sheet queries
* Helping manage the email and phone queries for Head Office employees/pension scheme members
* Liaising with integration team on acquisition of new surgeries, and the timing and planning on adding the new pension scheme members
* Maintaining the pension administration system and all communications with our pension provider (Scottish Widows)
*Sending regular communication to pension scheme members
* Ensuring the Pension Scheme is fully compliant with auto-enrolment legislation
*Ensuring that employees are re-enrolled every three years
* Dealing with all communications with The Pensions Regulator
* Administering employees opting out of the pension scheme
* Carrying out all pension contribution changes, ensuring they are in time for payroll deadlines
* Ensuring the smooth integration of new acquisitions into the IVC pension scheme
* Handling all employee pension queries ad communications.
* Any other tasks as directed
Experience/Qualifications:
* Previous working payroll knowledge would be an advantage
* Previous experience of administering a pension scheme
* Able to work to a high degree of accuracy
* Excellent IT skills to include strong excel and mathematical skills
* Confident of dealing with a high-volume workload
* Clear and confident communication skills
* Good telephone manner
* Proven ability to meet deadlines
* Flexible approach to work with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A strong team ethic
* Comfortable working within a clinical environment where compassion is a requirement
