Location: On Site – Arden, NC

Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000

We’re seeking a dynamic and results-driven Inventory and Receiving Manager to lead our inventory control, warehouse receiving operations, and material handling processes across two distinct warehouse locations. This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about streamlining operations while maintaining product integrity. Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Planning & Replenishment: Lead the development of inventory plans, ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time, and manage replenishment strategies to support sales and seasonal needs. 
  • Inventory Accuracy & Integrity: Oversee regular cycle counts and audits, resolve discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to ensure data accuracy and reliability. 
  • Receiving Operations Oversight: Manage the receipt of inbound goods, ensuring product accuracy, quality inspections, and proper documentation. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments, including Production, Fulfillment, Purchasing, and IT, to streamline product flow and ensure alignment with operational goals. 
  • SOP Development & Improvement: Create and refine standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency, maintain consistency, and ensure high-quality standards across all inventory management activities. 
  • System & Data Management: Optimize inventory management systems, ensure data accuracy, and provide training to system users to maximize platform performance. 
  • KPIs & Reporting: Monitor and report on key performance indicators, leveraging data insights to guide operational improvements. 
  • Warehouse Safety & Organization: Uphold OSHA safety standards and ensure the cleanliness, organization, and operational effectiveness of warehouse spaces. 
  • Space & Capacity Planning: Manage warehouse layout and space optimization to accommodate growth, seasonal variations, and changing product needs. 
  • Budget & Cost Control: Oversee budgets related to inventory handling, staffing, and receiving operations, while implementing cost-saving initiatives. 
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and develop a high-performing team across two warehouse locations, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. 

Required Skills

  • Inventory & Receiving Expertise: Strong knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, replenishment strategies, and receiving operations. 
  • Systems & Data Proficiency: Expertise with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms. Ability to analyze data and track KPIs to drive operational improvements. 
  • Leadership & Team Development: Proven leadership abilities with experience in coaching, setting expectations, and fostering a culture of accountability. 
  • Process Improvement & Operational Planning: Skilled in developing SOPs, process optimization, space planning, and seasonal readiness. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate with multiple departments to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Safety, Compliance & Budget Awareness: In-depth knowledge of OSHA safety standards and budget management. 
  • Problem Solving & Adaptability: Strong critical thinking abilities to resolve issues, with the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or receiving. 
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a distribution, warehouse, or supply chain environment. 
  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and/or ERP platforms. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field. 
  • 7+ years of combined experience in inventory control, receiving, and warehouse operations. 
  • 3+ years in a management-level role with a focus on team development, process improvement, and collaboration. 
  • Experience in seasonal, high-volume, or e-commerce environments. 
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. 

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • This position will primarily be based in a warehouse environment, requiring regular interaction across two warehouse locations. 
  • Frequent walking and standing, with occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds. 
  • Exposure to varying seasonal temperatures, with safety gear required in designated areas. 
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, particularly during peak seasons.
