About this role

 The Business Development Officer will secure new commercial clients for the Bank by developing and maintaining a strong banking relationship.   

In this role you will: 

  •  Support the Bank’s “People First” focus and rules of engagement— maintaining a professional  demeanor, working as an active member of the CNOB team, providing all clients excellent  service, always striving to make CNOB “A Better Place to Be”. 
  • Generate and develop new business relationships through networking, building relationships  with referral sources, and prospecting. 
  • Determine which financial products/structure best meet the client’s needs and financial  circumstances. 
  • Support the Bank’s strong relationship banking culture through on-going client contact,  quality client service and superior product knowledge. 
  • Maintain close client contact though entire transaction process, from application to closing,  routine contact with client to ensure CNOB is exceeding their expectations. 
  • Assist underwriting team by submitting a complete application package; monitoring the  progress of the application, working to resolve any issues that may emerge with borrowing  requests. 
  • Ensure all accounts and transactions are in compliance with operational, security and control  procedures of the Bank, preventing fraud and protecting customer assets.  
  • Conduct sales presentations with prospective and existing clients as well as community  groups. 
  • Manage one or more Business Development Officers 

Must haves: 

  • Knowledge of relevant Federal and State banking regulations. 
  • Excellent knowledge of Bank’s products and services.
  •  Familiarity with Bank security and safety practices 
  •  Minimum ten years of business development/sales experience. 
  • Thorough understanding of federal banking compliance and requirements. 
  • Excellent PC skills. 
  • Strong “People First” interest and ability. 
  • Exceptional networking and relationship building skills.
  • People Management Skills 
  • Ability to communicate effectivelLeadership experience and skill set
