Additional Information: Show/Hide Helper - After School Care Mondays and Fridays
Position Function The purpose of this position is to oversee and supervision of school age children between the grades of K to 6. The scheduled time shall be 3:00 till 6:00. The job shall be, but not limited to: Essential Functions
Assist, lead and coordinate with providers, may interact, in providing organize and supervision in a structured program for school age children in an after school setting; such as homework, snack, safety and play time.
Provide first aid if applicable. Reporting any injuries and complete appropriate form(s). Copies shall be provided to the parent, person completing the form, administrator and a copy remain on site.
Notify the Supervisor of a child being picked up.
Report any tardy pick-ups.
Coordinate activities with Supervisor(s).
Coordinate with the supervisor snacks and supplies needed.
Communicate effectively with administrator(s), children, parents and coworkers.
Follow policy and procedures as outlined in the “Parent Handbook”
Responsible for the area(s) are cleaned and equipment is put away prior to leaving.
Shall be a “Mandated Reporter” as defined as a person reporting any improprieties, injuries and/or discrepancies that is detrimental to the student and program.
Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Lead Supervisor or assistant Lead Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility.
Equipment Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of current appropriate activities for an after school child care program.
Knowledge of data information systems and the formulation of action plans to benefit the after school program.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding after school care.
Ability to effectively supervise and engage with school age children.
Ability to provide supervision to school age children to ensure they are following the rules outlined in the
Ability to take direction and guidance from your lead supervisor.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and parents, and to prepare oral or written communications if necessary with the Lead or Assistant Supervisors.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, community groups and others contacted in the course of work.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Work in standard office and school building environments. Qualifications Profile Experience preferred in organizing and supervising students to maintain a healthy working environment for all involved. Education
16 and over with appropriate child care certification preferred.
Experience Successful prior experience working with children.
