HOURS: 35 hours per week when school is in session WAGE: $15.40 per hour BENEFITS: Insurance & PTO
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The In-School Suspension (ISS) Supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising students assigned to in-school suspension. This role supports the school's behavioral expectations by providing a structured, supportive environment that promotes academic accountability, behavioral reflection, and restorative practices. The ISS Supervisor works closely with administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff to ensure students stay on track academically and behaviorally during their suspension.
REPORTS TO: The ISS Lead/Student Support reports directly to the building administrator or their designee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
48 hours of earned credit or
Passed the ParaPro assessment (may start without the ParaPro certification at a lower pay rate until the certification has been earned)
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Typical duties assigned to the ISS Lead/Student Support may include, but are not limited to the following:
ISS Lead/Student Support Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor students assigned to ISS throughout the school day
Maintain a structured, quiet, and respectful environment conducive to academic work and reflection
Ensure students complete assigned classwork and communicate with teachers to collect and return assignments
Monitor student progress and provide basic academic support when needed
Implement school and district behavior expectations, guidelines, and restorative practices
Promote positive behavior and conflict resolution
Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, and assignment completion
Address minor behavioral issues promptly and report major incidents to school administration
Support students in reflecting on their behavior and developing strategies for improvement
Provide feedback to administrators, counselors, and teachers regarding student behavior and progress
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the ISS room
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required
Support students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
