Shipping / Receiving Clerk Position Overview:
Receive, store, and issue material, parts, details, equipment, and office supplies to support manufacturing operations, office areas, field sites, and other areas as required.
Duties:
- Maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with government and corporate specifications.
- Monitor and implement adherence to all safety and department procedures, practices and directives.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet lifters, hand trucks and other related equipment.
- Monitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper rotation of stock.
- Operate material handling motorized equipment in the internal movement of parts, details and hardware and equipment in support of production requirements.
- Perform stock checks are required by inventory control and other related departments.
- Verify all material received for conformity with accompanying paperwork, checking for damage, correct part numbers and quantity.
- Issue material against approved paperwork such as affixing verification and traceability cards on required serialized parts before issuing.
- Interface with Traffic, Quality Control, Purchasing and other related departments to resolve problems relative to receipt and distribution of material.
- Maintain spot locator files for various types of material stored in warehouses.
- Check back order system (EDP’s or manuals) for plant requirements before storing material.
- Package customer product per specifications.
- Create and process shipments in SAP.
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
- Receive, Issue and Store Inventory.
- Load/unload inventory trucks.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in warehousing, stocking or other related experience desirable
Job Knowledge and Educational Requirements:
- Job knowledge requires vocational or similar training, including basic shop math to aid in the interpretation and the utilization of data from engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications and procedures.
- Knowledge of shop routines and practices is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of personal computers, including operating systems, file management is required and knowledge of data entry
- High school diploma preferred; candidates with the ability to obtain an accredited GED are encouraged to apply.
