EPTAM Precision Metals is looking for a CNC Programmer (1st Shift)  to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. Join us as we manufacture medical implants and internal fixation devices that bring positive outcomes for our customers and life impacting experiences for their patients.

SHIFT DETAILS:

Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm


PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE: 

  • Experience in CNC Programming of  Tsugami and Citizen Swiss Lathes; HAAS lathes and mills; and Fanuc Macro B programming techniques. 
  • Experience in Mastercam, Esprit, SolidWorks, and manual G-coding


POSITION SUMMARY: The CNC Programmer is primarily for the following:

  • Supply manufacturing with the necessary CNC programs to fulfill all customer orders as needed.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support related to programming, engineering, and manufacturing.

  • Develop accurate and comprehensive job quotes, considering project specifications, resource requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally during NPI process to determine proper set-up and operating procedures.
  • Make sound decisions to identify optimal program parameters to include: tooling, design of custom tools when applicable; program generation, fixtures, etc. to effectively improve operations and meet customer needs.
  • Generate program files, CNC programs, detailed CAD drawings and verify before issuance to ensure maximum safety of operators and production equipment.
  • Amend all programs and files as required by updates and/or edits.
  • Provide customers with technical assistance regarding product design recommendations and manufacturing applications.
  • Assist in helping fellow machinists grow their technical skills through approachable, non-judgmental mentoring.  
  • Achieve a classification of Independent or higher on all Programmer competencies identified on the Machinist Technician/Programmer Competency Checklist.
  • Employees must be able to relate to other people beyond receiving instructions. Can get along with co-workers or peers and respond appropriately to feedback from a supervisor in a professional manner. 

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load/feed machine as required to produce finished product.
  • Keep count of parts and maintain accurate records in ERP, as well as other supporting documentation.
  • Complete complex set-ups of equipment, and/or program development, in a timely and efficient manner to prepare for production run.   
  • Perform first piece and/or in-process inspection for dimensions of parts produced and maintain documentation as required.
  • Operate CMM machines as required to produce the finished product.
  • Ability to save and interpret reported CMM data, while ensuring the integrity of the recorded information.
  • Follow specifications and procedures for manufacturing, i.e., production checklist, work orders and operator instructions and set-up notes.
  • Identification of quality problems in materials and taking the initiative to correct.
  • Provide accurate and complete turnover from shift to shift.
  • Good housekeeping, safe work ethics, and conducting self in a professional manner.
  • Proper handling of all materials, parts, and equipment to prevent damage and loss of finished product.
  • Represent the company, as required, during customer, internal and ISO audits, as well as FDA inspections.
  • Understand the sensitivity of the data handled by systems under your control and take appropriate measures to protect it.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • EDUCATION: High school diploma, or equivalent, trade school graduate.
  • EXPERIENCE: 3–5-year(s) experience in a manufacturing environment, setting up and operating manual and/or CNC equipment and 3–5-year(s) experience programming using CAD/CAM software in a job shop environment, equivalent combinations of education and experience accepted OR demonstrated ability to execute the Essential Functions for this position.  Internships and PT experience acceptable.
