Job Summary
The Production Scheduler is the liaison between the sales organization and the operations management group. This position is responsible for scheduling product production by evaluating sales orders and forecasting availability, as well as fresh inventory management.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and complete a production schedule.
- Compile procurement data and generate ATS (Available to Sell) reports for sales.
- Quickly and accurately provide available to sell product inventory values for quick ship opportunities.
- Coordinate with sales and management to improve reaction time and forecast accuracy.
- Identify and implement system and process improvements within the supply chain to enable overall business process improvement.
- Improve forecasting tools and procedures through application of innovative ideas and projects.
- Provide reports (spreadsheets and databases) as needed.
- Handle a wide range of administrative tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (accounting, sales, business administration, operations management, supply chain management).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in planning/scheduling; red meat industry preferred.
- Knowledge of carcass utilization.
- Excellent computer skills; generating spreadsheets and preparing complex graphic presentations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough.
